Purpose:
In this activity, you will learn about the essential elements that make up the plot for a game and apply this knowledge by storyboarding your game. By creating a storyboard, you will visually outline the scenes, gameplay elements, and narrative progression of your game.
Instructions:
A storyboard serves as a visual representation of the narrative and gameplay mechanics of a game. It outlines the sequence of events, key interactions, and visual details of each scene.
Create Your Storyboard: A storyboard should include the following components:
- Set the Scene: Where does your scene take place? Describe the environment and setting.
- What is the Event?: What's happening in the scene? Describe the main action or objective.
- Who/What is involved?: Who are the main characters or entities involved? Describe their roles and interactions.
- Detail/Feature: Highlight specific components that are important for gameplay or storytelling. Include any key objects, obstacles, or features.
- Gameplay Elements: Consider the gameplay mechanics and features. What actions can the player take? What challenges or obstacles do they encounter?
- Outcome: How does the scene conclude? Describe the result or outcome of the player's actions.
